20210218 Ophthalmology Clinicial Trial Checkup on Terriers

Dr. Isabel Casanova, a graduate student in Integrative Patobiology, (blue mask) conducts followup exams on two terriers, Gabe (male) and Bijou (female) who are undergoing a clinical trial for the treatment of Corneal Endothelial Dystrophy (CED). Assisting Dr. Casanova is Sangwan Park, a post-doctorate (white coat) and Research Associate Michelle Ferneding (blue scrubs). CED is a devastating disease that causes blindness and discomfort. This study is evaluating a new regenerative drug, netarsudil (Rhopessa), for the treatment of dogs with Corneal Endothelial Dystrophy. Owner permission has been granted to used these photos.
