UC Davis surgeons, under the direction of Dr. Beverley Sturges, replace an antenna and transmitter in the skull of a dog that suffers from ongoing seizures. The surgery is part of a veterinary clinical trial for early detection (and hopefully prevention) of canine epileptic seizures done at the University of California School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Sturges is a Professor of Clinical Surgical & Radiological Sciences who specializes in stem cell therapy for spinal cord injury in dogs and epilepsy and seizure prediction in dogs.
